Secure File Transfer Protocol

Better than FTP!

Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) is a secure version of File Transfer Protocol (FTP), which facilitates data access and data transfer over a Secure Shell (SSH) data stream.

SFTP is used to move files from one computer to another and is one of the oldest protocols for moving files online. It’s not ideal but can be a useful tool for rudimentary sharing of documents as information from one source to another. The source system will drop files as they are created into a folder, they are transferred to the destination folder and are collected and imported to the destination source on a schedule.
